5' x 7'.
Hand painted and printed cotton and silk organza, dried flowers, photo transfers. Hand stitched and quilted.
The Mourning Quilt for the Lost and Disappearing Plants of Canada uses dried flowers as the batting. The silk organza has been wrapped around pieces of bark prior to painting in order to create spontaneous patterns and various densities of colour. The images of plants in the photo transfers were given a brown hue to suggest death and decay.
