Hand painted and printed cotton and silk organza, bubble wrap, photo transfers. Hand stitched and quilted.

The Mourning Quilt for the Lost and Disappearing Fish, Reptiles and Amphibians of Canada uses bubble wrap as the batting. Bubble wrap was also used to print on the silk organza after it had been painted. The overall effect suggests sun shining on water and the hidden depths below – whether they be those of ocean, pond, river or lake.
