Joanna Rogers. Escape From the Labyrinth.

This piece was inspired by the myth of Daeadalus, the architect of the Labyrinth on Crete and the father of Icarus. Daeadalus created wings for both himself and his son to enable them to escape from their imprisonment. Daeadalus was not a very pleasant person, but he was an extremely talented craftsman. He survived his flight to freedom and spent the rest of his days in Sicily as the king's architect. His is a cautionary tale of jealousy, loss and creativity.
