Eternal Return. The Ghost Children of Cornwall. II. Lantick Bay.

When I was a child, living in the south of England, family holidays were spent in Cornwall staying in National Trust cottages. These were days spent exploring beaches, walking through breathtakingly beautiful countryside and visiting small fishing villages.

Fifty years later, I returned to Cornwall; not as an exercise in nostalgia, just to appreciate that particular part of England. Without trying, I found myself very close to several places we had stayed all those years ago. I imagined I could hear the happy voices of me and my sister echoing through the intervening years. These layered photographs capture this feeling.

Eternal Return: a theory that the universe and all existence and energy has been recurring, and will continue to recur, in a self-similar form an infinite number of times across infinite time or space.
