The Hypocrite's Hair Skirt.

20" x 26".

Human hair, tulle, nails, ribbon.

This piece addresses the duplicity of corporations to protect the bottom line. This hair skirt is designed for the modern hypocrite and was inspired by Moliere’s play Tartuffe. I constructed this piece using my own discarded hair as a nod to Victorian mourning jewellery made from the hair of the recently deceased. This references the myriad deaths caused by deadly products that were marketed despite the known risks to consumers. The foundation is a skirt I used to wear to work in a bank.
