Citon Shield

This shield is loosely based on a celtic shield in the collection of the British Museum. It is decorated with chiton shell segments. Lying isolated on a beach, thee segments resemble beautiful blue butterflies but assembled on a living chiton they provide a powerfully strong protective outer coating.
