Crazy Quilt

This piece was the beginning of the Under Wraps series.

I was working at Vancouver Co-op Radio and my office was across the corridor from the Music Library. This was back in the day when music CDs were sent to radio stations. They were safely packaged in bubble wrap for protection in the mail and the Music Director would hand me this bubble wrap to pop. The best stress reliever in the world! I could not bring myself to throw the popped bubble wrap away and horded it until I came up with the idea of using it to make a crazy quilt. I experimented with the best way to add colour and then started sewing.

The images are photographs of nineteenth century anonymous needle workers transferred on to latex.
